The works on show at the “Liquid Assets” exhibition focus on the mysteries, the ineffable and obscure aspects of an economic and financial system that no longer explains itself. The secrets and logics of free-flowing global cash flows are examined with the devices of art in order perhaps to understand a bit better how money and debt morality can define and deform interpersonal relationships.

We offer guided tours and discussions in German and English specially geared to certain age groups and interests.

Guided tours at the festival centre

As is tradition, the steirischer herbst festival centre temporarily lends an existing architecture – the former customs house in Bahnhofgürtel and the adjacent Explosiv youth culture centre – a new form, providing space for a wide range of different uses: night-spot, concerts and Sunday cinema at Explosiv; the “Close Link” installation, the herbst exhibition “Liquid Assets”, the herbst bar, and numerous actions at the customs house; and the landscape architects from atelier le balto have placed a groups of strangely floating houses all over the terrain. A terrain that permits surprising discoveries and promises exciting experiences!
